Sometimes the Month Doesn’t Start on Day 1
Hey friends, I’ve been off the grid for a couple weeks but excited to get back to writing and newsletter-ing today. Today I’ve got a story up on Milk Candy Review, one of my favorite flash publications. Go check it out and let me know what you think: https://milkcandyreview.home.blog/
So here we are in November, the unofficial official month of intense writing challenges. There’s a certain segment of the population for whom November will always signify National Novel Writing Month ahead of lesser interests like Thanksgiving or holiday shopping or family time or other silly concerns. I am of this segment, though it’s been a few years since I committed to the whole 50,000 words in 30 days. This year, right up until October 31 I was waffling between NaNoWriMo and Nancy Stohlman’s 30/30 Flash Nano Challenge (here: https://nancystohlman.com/). Then I went to the Vermont woods with my husband and his crew to make a short film, and just like that it’s November 7th and I haven’t written a word!
But today’s a new day and I’m back at Caffé Nero with my oatmeal and my latte and a week’s worth of writing prompts to choose from. There’s still a lot of month left. How’re you using yours?
I’ll be back Saturday with a fresh story recommendation and writing prompt. Until then, happy writing!
